Blue, Wet Sketch

A quick post of my only sketch for Scavenger Hunt 302 which was over on February 17.  (We had company .. that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)  I sketched at the doctor's office while Gene had his routine checkup.  So it was in the small sketchbook I keep in my purse with a regular Pilot ball point pen.  I added a touch of watercolor after I got home.

Number 1, blue - the paper towel holder and Number 2, wet - the faucet and sink.

Today I have a one on one pastel class so should now be in mode to tidy up my studio and get out my pastel gear.  My lesson plan is prepared, I hope the artist will learn and have a good time.  I'm sure I will learn something, too.  When I teach, it reminds me of things I do, things I should do and why I do them.  That is always good.  I tend to get in a rut and do things the easiest way.  Easy is not a bad thing, but I tend to fall into a set way to do things without pushing myself a bit.  Teaching makes me think and pull those learned processes out of mothballs and push forward.

I have some shows coming up as well, so will be back soon with info on the exhibit front!

Teaching keeps us on our toes. Sometimes it is good to mess up when teaching - it lets the student learn how to fix things - or not.

Bag Blog, I like your thinking. It is always helpful to know that you can fix your mistakes! Thanks.
