Jo's Thistle, Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper, 9 x 9 inches |
Gene also put up my rain gutter shelves in my studio. I used them at the downtown gallery both times I had a studio there, but not here at home. They are easy (for him) to put up and hold all kinds of goodies. They look nice, too. He put them behind the door for me. Thank you, Gene!
I also made a gluten free chocolate cake with quinoa. Quinoa is a very healthy grain. You can find the recipe here on the 10 cent Diet blog. The photo there is prettier. :) The cake came out very good. Not too sweet and because gluten free things don't rise, it is more like a moist brownie.

Love the painting. The gutters/shelves look great. And, the cake looks very tasty. Yum.
I like the thistles - good way to start painting again - knocking out a great litle painting.
Hi Joanna, Thanks. I don't know why I haven't had the shelves here at the house. The cake is yummy, your Dad even likes it. :)
Bag Blog, thank you. I have intended on painting those for a long time. I want to try in oil for some reason.
Glad you're painting, Jo, and glad to see your lovely thistle. I love them because they are a symbol of Scotland, too! And you are so industrious, with the shelves and blogging, and baking. My, my!
Regina, "Industrious" made me laugh. I guess it is kind of like cleaning house when you don't know what else to do. Didn't want to paint so just procrastinated by taking photos of cups and cooking! And so I keep on putting painting on hold.......
