Here is a slide show from our trip yesterday to Springer and back. We had dinner in Springer and returned home.
It was a beautiful day and we were caught in the rain several times. We went past Philmont Boy Scout Ranch and will have to go back and take a tour. Huge and hundreds of cars and RVs there. (More of those Photos didn't turn out.) We also drove through and around the Express Double U Bar Ranch. Amazing.
We had ordered a package from Amazon and it came UPS. The US Post Office didn't accept the package for us like they did last year so we went to Springer to pick it up. We stopped at the UPS office and the driver wasn't back yet. The agent talked to him by phone and he dropped it off at the restaurant for us. How nice was that?
This slide show is from Gene's page (his private journal). Click on it to see it full screen or one by one.
You can see more photos from New Mexico by clicking on the link on the sidebar for my slide show and look around in my albums.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Toby and I looked and lusted after land in Miami. It is one of our favorite places in NM. As for places to eat, we usually eat a burger at Minnie's in Springer, but the Brown B&B is great for breakfast. We often stop at the CreeMee in Cimarron for some icecream, but we like Heck's Heck of a burger too. Have you driven from Black Lake over into Ocate? You come out at Wagon Mound on I-25. Part of the road is gravel, but the scenery is beautiful.
The UPS people in NM were always SO wonderful. I have been rather disappointed in them here in OK.
Pretty pictures!
Bag Blog, We saw the Brown Hotel, didn't appear to be open for dinner. The UPS agent said only Elida's was open as the burger place closed at 7 and it was about 6:50 p.m. I saw the CreeMee and was tempted, but we had eaten a big dinner. :) We haven't taken that drive, thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for stopping by, too.
Joanna, thanks. Photos are always on the fly as you know. I try to crop out the close up blurs, but some you have to take as they are. Ha.
I decided not to comment on the blurry stuff and then *you* do! Heh.
Joanna, aren't you sweet? I know you notice that stuff. Ha.
