I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Hunting Sketch and Pastel Indian Blanket
I have not been too faithful to the Scavenger Hunts. I did a quick one last night for Hunt 179 as it was interesting. We were to do a self portrait in cartoon style. I did a two minute sketch in pencil. I have never been one to copy cartoons or try to draw one so here is my goofy effort. :)
I am working on a pastel painting of a porch with flower pots. I also started another wildflower the other day and decided to work on it as well. It is difficult for me to do pastel flowers. I find it hard to make them look light and airy. This one is better after I worked on it a bit so now I am satisfied with it. We didn't have sun today so the photo is not the final one.
These are Indian Blankets, their color is more red than orange and the blue is brighter, so hopefully a new photo will be more like the painting.

Jo: Beautiful painting, love those flower colors.
fishing guy, thank you so much. I know from the photos on your blog how much you like flowers!
Wow! Those arched eyebrows on cartoon-you give you a bit of an evil countenance. Way to go!
And, I love the Indian Blankets, of course.
Argh...your mom has an evil countenance! Tee hee, I guess that ruins it.
Thanks, Joanna, I keep working on those wildflowers.
Colors are wonderful Jo and I love the cartoon, don't know whether it's a very flattering thing to say, but I knew it was you right away.LOL.
Rae
Rae, thanks. I'm taking it as a compliment. You did recognize me, Gene didn't. Ha.
Great cartoon sketch. I love the colors in this flower painting...so bright and sunny!!!!
Joan, thank you. I appreciate you stopping by.
Excellent Blogging. Thanks for sharing the stuff with everyone. I love art very much. I am especially impressed very much by the Brent Bailer Gallery. It was too good.
Thanks, Ryan. For the link, too.
Oh, my Indian Blankets are in bloom now! They're so cheerful... such a bright spot in the garden. Great painting!
Thank you, Teresa. I do not have any in my yard! :( These were at the golf course.
