As you see, Lineup is a new painting that you haven't seen. There are always those that say you should enter all in one category -- landscape, still life, portrait and figure, animals or other divisions. I usually pick the ones I like the best. Often I paint all new paintings. I was too far behind this year to do all new ones. My favorite of these is the landscape, Hill Country Autumn. I don't know why, maybe because I enjoyed painting it. It is from photos, too. I prefer painting from life, photos can be confusing. I have a four minute video on the sidebar that shows my work on that painting. I posted about the stacked apples, too, without a video. I have not written about Lineup as yet.
I hope you can come to the show in March and see the real paintings, they are always better. In the slide show they all look the same size. There is a large variety of styles, techniques and sizes.

Great Submissions Jo. My favorite is the figurative "Lineup". Good luck.
All are nice, but my favorite is the landscape. Good luck!
Hi Donna, thank you for looking and picking a favorite. There are many good paintings including yours. I like your paintings and sketches that have figures. I hope everyone checks the entries.
Bag Blog, thank you, too. Some paintings just paint themselves as they say. :) You know the feeling.
They're all good but I'm partial to the landscape also. I'd really love to see them all in person - too bad you live so far away!
Good work Jo, and good luck in the show, I live the figurative one, and the apples, cute title too.

Jan, thank you so much. I would love to meet you, too, and see your work. Maybe we will all get together for an "artist gathering" some day in the middle of the U.S. :)
Rae, thank you. I love your parrots and well, all of your entries, too. Hugs.
Hey Jo! I think you will do very well in the show. Your paintings are unique in composition and masterfully rendered. I'll be there in spirit.
I like that stack of apples. Just waiting for it to fall. Also the waiting keeps you wondering what they are waiting for.
Oooh, I like all three! I couldn't get it together to enter this year, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Sheila, thank you so much. Appreciate the kind words and feel the support.
Jeanne, it was fun doing the apples and the smell in my studio was great. Thanks.
Susan, I thought I hadn't seen any entries from you. I will keep your crossed fingers with me. :)
Wow Jo! All three are winners in my book! Lineup is my favorite... you've captured a personality for each individual!
I've been here quite a while...always make sure my coffee cup is full when I come to visit your blog! Thanks for the slide show of entries. I'm going to look at it again before leaving. You share so much with us and it's sooooo appreciated!
Good luck with the show! Oh my goodness - I'm looking at the apples as I type this...maybe I'll change my choice for favorite...
Hi Rosemary, you brought a smile to my face as I am finishing up for the night. Thanks so much for your encouragement. :)
Great work Jo, I love the landscape and I love the Hill Country of Texas.
good luck in the show.
I like that you have one for each category. Good luck with the show. I think my favorite is the autumn landscape.
Peggy, thank you so much. It is beautiful around here. :)
Joan, thanks. You hear pros for working in a series, but I don't know, so decided to enter what I liked. We will see.
