Last item first. Is post number 1,000 significant? Probably not, but this is post 1,000.
I sketched with my Micron 05 pen in my 7 x 10 inch sketchbook at Mom Frances' while she and Gene napped. These are for Scavenger Hunt 147.
Number 3, cardboard box -- a couple of the puzzle boxes on a table. Number 4, camera -- it takes wonky photos of itself. :) Number 5, big chair -- Mom Frances' recliner.
This morning I went out in the very uninspiring back yard to paint. The yard is dirt, gravel and trees and bushes. There is one planter with flags, irises, that are turning brown. There are a few bricks and an uncovered cement slab. I'm not complaining though. It is nice to have a yard and house instead of a hotel room. I can go out and paint, sketch, drink coffee or just ponder.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Congrats Jo! Wow, 1000 posts - not bad! Well done on making a painting of the back yard. You are even remaining loyal to the sketch hunts. Yes, that describes you very well, loyal!
Congrats!
Rose, thank you soooo much. You are loyal and dedicated as well, you know.
Jo - congratulations on 1000 posts! I like your "Left over Flags" - great job on the planter and flowers and I like your light, as always.
Your post reminded me of a thing on facebook I thought was so good - it was a challenge to a photographer to go to assigned blocks in his town and find something of beauty to photograph in each block. It's always there, right?
1000 posts is amazing! I love it that you paint even when the backyard is "uninspiring."
Regina and Bag Blog, thank you. I guess I should post a photo of the yard. :) It is full of those "poor browns" that Winston Churchill didn't like either. Ha.
Nice painting, Mom. The 1000 post thing is cool. And, that camera takes wonky pictures of lots of things, eh? :)
Joanna, I'm so glad you noticed those "bad" photos my camera takes. Shame on that camera!
Come to think of it, Joanna, too bad the verb "tomar" is not reflexive. I can't blame the camera in Spanish either!
