The UT - Alabama A&M games were rained out on Saturday. We actually had 2.5 inches of rain. That was super, but postponed the games to today. Going back and forth to Austin doesn't leave much time for art and posting, so here I am, finally.
The Longhorns won both games today. The last regular games of the season. A nice finish.
The Horns also won the Big 12 Conference Championship. We are going to the tournament in Oklahoma City. It is Wednesday through Sunday. Oklahoma was second in the conference. Eight of the 10 teams are in the tournament. Oklahoma State and Nebraska did not make the tournament this year. The Big 12 Conference tournament is in Oklahoma City in Bricktown. We went two years ago and had a great time. The Ballpark, home of the Redhawks, is sort of in downtown with restaurants and the river with boat rides. A little like the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Smaller scale, of course.
The powers that be try to have the Oklahoma teams play in the evening to "draw" crowds for the games. This is the first year that they won't have two Oklahoma teams. Texas brings a lot of fans, but for some reason they don't want Texas playing in the evenings. You would have thought this year without Oklahoma State they would love to have Texas to draw their fans. We have a big group wherever Texas plays. Anyway, the way they set it up, Texas plays in the afternoons. I cannot believe that on Thursday they think Kansas State and Baylor will have a big crowd. Oh well, the Horns will just have to win!
Check out the schedule on the Official Longhorn page. The Big 12 Conference will have live stats and be streaming video of the games so you can watch and keep up with things. Joanna posts on her Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page, too. By the way, "Inning by Inning: A Portrait of a Coach" about Augie Garrido, Longhorn Coach, is due to be released on June 2nd and you can win a copy on Joanna's page and find out how to buy copies as well.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

The Big 12 Conference tournament sounds like great fun. I may try to make it to a game too.
Hey, Bag Blog, that would be extra fun. :)
