The day for the game, Sunday, was much better. I got to stay only through the fourth inning as I had to go to the
Austin Pastel Society Annual Juried Exhibit Reception. You can see the winners here on the website. It was a lovely reception with quite a few guests and artists. The prizes were wonderful and we had some very excited winners. I don't have photos but will link when we get some posted.
The baseball day was great. The Longhorns won in the bottom of the ninth. Very exciting. Read about it on
Joanna's website. The dry version on the official
Texas Sports site, but some great photos.
A couple of photos before I left. Remember you can click for larger images.

They are shooting t-shirts up to the fans. You can see the folks aren't so bundled up. This was early in the game and it got even warmer.

The bases loaded full of Longhorns. They didn't score here, but went on to win. Whew.

Sunset on the way home in Bastrop.

The sunset in the rear view mirror. Pretty cool, Gene's idea for the photo.

I remember going through Magdalena as a kid; east of Pie Town and Datil, west of Socorro? I think we used to cut Christmas trees in the forest near there (it been a few decades). Great area.
The UT game sounds like great fun. Those are some nice photos.
r garriott, Hi there! Yes, great Christmas trees around there. You need bunches of permits to get one, now. :) Did you have family there. I only have one sister in Grants and a few cousins left in the area. Plenty on my husbands side. Thanks for stopping in.
Bag Blog, the games are fun. Don't know quite why we got started except Joanna went and to see her we had to go. We are of to Houston for a game with Rice today. Thanks.
