You know I have been working on some pastel paintings, 12 x 12 inches. I made another video with my Flip. I worked on the painting for a few hours and did not tape the whole thing, but you get a four minute sample here. I added a little voice over. Let me know what you think. Is it too long? I will post the finished painting tomorrow or the next day.

How enjoyable! I think it was a good length - it was nice to see you progress through the painting but also to hear you doing the voice-over! That's a good combination.

Hi Kasie, thank you so much. I would guess that some people go into much more detail and drawing than I do. Your colored pencil and drawings take patience and detail. Patience is something I don't have. :)

Jo: That was amazing. I guess I never thought of pastel as being a type of crayon. The things non-artist know is limited. Thanks for sharing the video.

fishing guy, soft pastels are more like "chalk". (Don't let pastelists hear me say that. They are pure pigment with a little binder.) There are oil pastels that are very much like crayon with wax or oil to hold them together. A very difficult medium for me!

Jo, this was a wonderful tutorial! As someone who wants to get her feet wet with other media, I really appreciated getting a look at the way your pastel work is created! I love the finished product! The tutorial was great, and I plan to watch it again.
Thank you for your very kind comments on my tile glazing! Now, that is a difficult medium, since the colors one works with are not the colors one sees after the piece is fired. You have to "feel" your way through and use your instincts. But I very much enjoy it. I really appreciated you taking a look.

Hi Marie, (tile lady) I thank you for your comments. My friend, Lea Cundy (on the side bar), does tile and pottery. I tried it and am amazed at the patience it takes, not my comfort zone. :) You do great work.
