Some Art is Selling

Oh my! Southeby's had a great auction last week. This triptych by Frances Bacon sold for a mere $86 million. (Photo from the NY Times Article, their art blog is here.) Most of the sales were abstract and pop art. No recession in the big art world. Sigh.......

The big money is still around for the big art!

Joan, too bad it depends on the elite art critics. They are like movie critics and food critics. Such a fickle bunch. Ha.

Too bad it costs so much for something so weird. If I paid $86 million, I'd want a few more pieces or to be able to tell what it is.
