Hunt #72 Sketches, Glass llama, etc.

I did not do any art today. I volunteered at the Family Crisis Center. Always interesting and fulfilling. I did sketch last night in front of the TV for Scavenger Hunt #72. All with the Micron 05, not the 005, in my medium sized sketchbook. About an hour total. No pencil drawing and done quickly with no changes.

#4 Something that curls, a roll of ribbon.

#5 A knick-knack, a glass and silver llama (the ribbon in the back)

#6 & 7 Something hard and something soft, a lapiz egg (about a real chicken egg size, pretty and blue of course) and a little dog that sits on my lamp on my desk. Beige and a gift from Gene.

I love this sketch. I can just feel the fur!
As far as pastel points to address, I'll send my list by email. Those folks don't know how lucky they are that you're the one introducing them to pastels! You'll be a wonderful teacher, Jo.

I love the last sketch. Hard and soft together. It's really so nice. A pastel class....nice idea!I'm sure the class will be great with you as a teacher.

Susan, Thank you so much! Wow, if you send hints, they will get two teachers for the price of one...Thanks for the confidence, too. :)

Of all of these, I think the ribbon must have been the most difficult - excellent job!

Regina, ribbon is challenging. Easier to show the twists in color, I think. My impatience doesn't help in black and white. You need "even" strokes in hatching to soften the edges between light and dark and of course I don't take the time. It is interesting, though, so I try it once in a while.
