The size is 14 x 18 inches and done with a variety of soft pastels. The paper was a light gray so I did an under painting with dark pastels spread with water. Again, I started with a sketch done with a pastel pencil. I then start color all over the paper to get a feel for value and how the composition is affected.
I finished up with the color.
I checked the values by turning the photo to black and white. It is pretty dark, in general, I may lighten the background on the right and bottom. Otherwise I think it is finished. Any critique is welcome.
