Trees and Vehicle Sketches

Gene went to PT today so I went out and sat in the shade on the rocks that hold up the pillars, like bottom of a column ?? sort of.  Anyway it was hot but not too bad in the shade about 11 a.m.  Tree and vehicle were on the list so a pretty good selection.  I left out the buildings across the street and parking lot and concentrated on the trees since I had about 30 minutes.

For Scavenger Hunt 167 https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-167-aug-06-aug-18.8144/

Number 8 tree and Number 9 vehicle, a small sedan.  I sketched in the large Canson Mix Media sketchbook with Ohuhu pens and added watercolor.  About half a page.

Several people went into the jewelry store behind me.  A few said hello.  No one mentioned or asked about my sketch.  No children, I think school is in full swing.  I'm amazed at how many people go in the jewelry store.  I've never been interested in jewelry.  I've had gifts over the years.  Gene bought  quite a few pieces in South America for me.  They burned in the fire.  I wear a couple of turquoise rings.  One Gene's nephew and his uncle made .. probably from the early 90s and a ring my mom had which has to be over 120 years old now.  It was hers  and second hand to her.  She was born in 1905 so......

I like the simplicity of this scene. Nicely done!

I seem to have pulled something and it has been a bit painful, so I went to the osteo guy to make sure it didn't affect my hip. The hip is still perfect I was told, but my back has some discs that aren't quite as snappy as they should be. Will see another doctor who specializes in spines. Meanwhile I have started PT for this annoying pain. Yikes...I'm falling apart!

I wear the same pendant every day (don't take it off), the same rings (don't take them off), but have more earrings than any jewelry store has. lol

Oh, Joan. Sorry to hear about the pain. I was surprised at how they told me to keep moving for the sprain that it will heal faster. Hmmm, still hurts, but better each day.
You have sketched a few earrings as I recall. I'm smiling. You are like me with the pendant and rings you depend on.

Jo - this sketch is great...your tree, car and foliage are just perfect. It is amazing how many folks still shop at jewelry stores. I have plenty and am like you - not necessarily drawn to more. Stay cool...we are finally feeling a break from the heat here...fall-like. Hugs!
