I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States.
This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
That sounds like a movie, Scissors Hand. Well, almost. I sketched on the porch this morning while Gene slept in for a while. I got the Conda sketch pad since I wasn't doing color. I was going to do a continuous line sketch (item on the Hunt) but I sketched the scissors first and the Sharpie marker ink bled through the paper so I decided to just sketch my hand above the bleed on the back side of the paper and not use the Sharpie marker to ruin the sketch above the scissors. I'm confused, too, sorry.
Number 1 scissors - the carpet scissors. These are so good for cutting up boxes and the tough plastic packaging on items. So good to have around.
Number 2 hand - doing the Hook 'em Horns symbol
Since the Longhorns did not reach the Super Regionals we have been rooting for LSU for Brandon, Tennessee for Carolyn and UTSA for me. I don't want the Longhorns losing to a team that doesn't make it to Omaha! I enjoy the games and ESPN is already paid for. We only use the sports package for baseball and then turn it off.
Hope you have a great week. What's up for Father's Day?

The Hook ‘em sign is also very appropriate for the Texas softball team victory! 😉🤘
Forgot to add my

Sorry your sketch bled thru the paper. That is so annoying, but you worked your sketches out around it.
Hey (not so anonymous) Joanna, thanks. I sort of had that in mind. National Champions! Yay and Hook 'em Horns!
Joan it was annoying and I should have remembered. It was a regular Sharpie marker and not the fine line one like a pen. Oh well.
I love your work.
R's Rue, thank you so much.
Jo the sketches still came out well. Sorry about your team. I really like the hand signal. Hugs!
Debbie, thanks. We do like the Horns!! Take care and hope you got some sunshine.
