I sketched on a different porch — out the front door. I sat on a chair and sketched on the bottom of the page from the last sketch in the large Canson Mixed Media sketchbook with a Sharpie pen and watercolor. Looking across the street, very shady under the cedar trees. The closer bunch of trees is a cluster of Yaupon. We took down most of them because they burn like kerosene and the fire goes up to the bigger trees. I left off the porch railing so it wouldn’t block the view.

Number 8 rock - the black malpais (lava rock) we brought from New Mexico and the white limestone from the burned house on the edge of the sidewalk.
Number 9 seasonal - no real seasons here in this part of Texas. We are in the “hot and dry” season. It is cool now from midnight to sunrise and then it zooms up as soon as the sun comes out.

Nice views from the front of your house. Glad you had some shade to keep you cool.
Thanks , Joan. We lucked out with our house for sure.
I think you must have a lovely view from your front porch. I hope you are enjoying a great start to your week. Take care - hugs!
Debbie, thanks. We have good views from all 3 porches. We only have the one off the dining/living room that is screened in, so it is used the most. You have sort of country living, too. Love seeing your photos.
