Hunt 122 Sketches

I can not believe how fast the Hunts fly by now.  I thought I better do a couple of sketches today.

These are for Scavenger Hunt from Life 122
https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-122-jul-14-jul-22.7060/

These are in the large Canson Mixed Media sketchbook.  The gray shadows are because the paper is warped from watercolor on the other side of the page and doesn't lie flat on the scanner.  I sketched with a Micron 02 that is about out of ink and nib.  I had to hold it up straight to get a line.

Number 2 face - Gene is the only other face around, we were watching TV
Number 3 X-acto - Joanna gave us a new cutter knife with a cover for opening boxes, etc.  It works well.  The edges are serrated and it is non stick so easier to cut through tape, etc., on packages.

I also doodled a little.  I like to do this and then see afterwards what they are.  I see fish today.  Maybe I was thinking of salmon burgers for dinner.  Our HEB grocery has some with corn and jalepeños in them.  They make a great dinner with potatoes or coleslaw, not as burgers.   We didn't go to the store, though so I made Macaroni Stuff and fried potatoes with pork and beans in them. The Macaroni Stuff is macaroni, ground beef seasoned with oregano, comino (cumin), garlic, salt and pepper and Worcestershire sauce.  Lots of carbs but so good to eat together.  Been a family favorite for years.  I used to love taking leftovers to work for lunch with some Fritos.  There were never potatoes left over, so mac and Fritos.

Interesting that Trump picked J.D. Vance for his running mate.  We listened to Vance's book, Hillbilly Elegy,  when it first came out, way before politics came into his life.  He has an amazing story.  I don't remember who recommended it.  I didn't know there is a movie as well.  I cannot imagine Glen Close as his grandmother.  Hmmm.

Love the doodles. The lower one looks like the profile of a human skull to me. :-)

Hi (not-so-anonymous) Joanna, thanks. I've done those for ages. Shirley used to do very similar ones. Yours are more "square" blocks and triangles?? I guess they are Zentangles now. Still fun.

I like your doodles...sort of like zentangles. The x-acto sounds interesting. I can never seem to find mine when I need it. lol

I saw Hillbilly Eulogy with Glen Close a while ago. I didn't realize the connection to Vance.

Joan, thank you. Box cutters, even nail clippers always seem dangerous to me. Always careful with them.

As always Jo enjoy seeing your sketches and doodles. Looks a lot like zentangles which for quite some time I found fun. The Hillbilly Eulogy with Glen Close would be a fun movie. Think your Mac and Cheese with Fritos sounds pretty wonderful. Have a great weekend. Hugs!

Debbie, Thanks, I tend to do the doodles when I'm listening and don't want to think. Ha. We've been eating the mac for years when we couldn't afford much. Lots of carbs but so good occasionally.
