Today was a visit to Spring Street Dental for two crowns for Gene. That place is amazing. We arrived just before 1:30 p.m. In right on time. They prepped, scanned and got ready for the two crowns. Break for us while they made the teeth/crowns. Back to check the fit. 15 minutes or so to bake the crowns. Back to place and finish. Another 20 minutes or so to take measurements with the scanner for a guard for Gene to use at night for grinding his teeth. Home by 5:00 p.m. or so. Everyone smiling and happy to see us. The dentist is left handed and I'm amazed he does most of the work just like a right handed dentist. A few twists and turns but not many. I highly recommend that office.
I sketched out the window. The train went by once. Traffic was interesting about 4:00 p.m. with school buses stopping at the railroad crossing and the traffic backing up.
I sketched in the Ohuhu sketchbook with a Micron 03.

Number 7 upright - trees, sign and water tank. The tank and gazebo are part of the Convention Center I think.
Number 8, telephone pole - substituting the light pole and railroad crossing stuff.
And, the train. Gene counted 33 cars only. They are usually much longer. We had just talked about that we hadn't seen a train today and then......

Jo sounds like this dentist is great. Crowns generally take longer to do. Some dentists do it in a couple of appointments instead of just one. Your sketches capture all the things that were happening while you waited. Trains just fascinate me. Read where they are starting to build one from Los Angeles, Ca. to Las Vegas. Now that sounds so good to me. Well take care friend and enjoy your day. Hugs!
Debbie, I wish we had had dentists like this when I was young. I wouldn't be in such bad shape teeth wise! One of my other friends that doesn't comment here said the train reminded her of when she was a kid and her father had them count the cars to keep them quiet when waiting for trains. The fast train from Vegas to L.A. does sound great. We took Amtrak from Austin to St. Louis a few years ago. Overnight in sleeper with dining in the dining car. Very nice! Thanks for stopping by.
