Nature Calls Sketch

We need to enjoy nature from our porch while we can.  I've sketched about every view.  I zoomed in on what were little trees when we moved in here.  Now they are pretty big.

Number 2 nature - bottom of trees in the BookFactory sketchbook with the Micron pen.

We went for a drive out HWY 969 yesterday to see if the zebras were out.   We didn't see any.  We turned into a new part of The Colony and found you can drive through to the old part of The Colony and avoid HWY 71.  They are putting in gates.  I guess folks are using that route when 71 is backed up with peak traffic.  We saw a herd of deer, about 8, but down to 4 after I turned around.

These deer are so small compared to the Mule deer in New Mexico.  Like Bambi.

We have a guy working on the septic system.  Always something when you own a home.  No water interruptions yet.  He's working on the electronic part.  We have an aerobic system (I think) that waters the grass after filtering the waste water.

Nice sketch from the porch! You've got nice views.

It is fun to see the animals you encountered when you went for the drive. We have quite a lot of deer out here. As they cut down the forested areas to build more developments the deer started coming into the areas that they didn't venture into before. They bother a lot of the homeowners because they eat almost anything on your property. I worry about them because they are always running onto the roads and it is so easy to hit them.

Thanks so much, Joan. Yes fun to see the deer. Same problems here. The people also feed them so they hang around in danger.
