It is gloomy and rainy again today. We are so thankful for the rain but it does make the house dark even with all our windows.
I sketched at the window. Ocean, river or pond was an item on the list so I sketched the big easterly pond and a puddle. It is always interesting to me that the wet earth and plants have richer color than when dry even with the cloudy day.
For Scavenger Hunt from Life 100 https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-100-jan-21-jan-28.6506/Number 7 ocean, river or pond - out back through the window of the rainy day pond and puddle.
I used the wiped off Lux Archival paper, 8 x 10 inches where I sketched the book, jar, etc.
The paper was stained, but it doesn't affect the new painting. There is lots of room to add more layers on this paper. I like it a lot. It reminds me of the old Wallis paper that you can't get anymore. I love that it stays flat...... There are 4 or 5 layers in some spots and you can still feel the tooth of the paper.
I hope to try a watercolor under painting for a landscape soon. Should be nice and drippy and stained.

The colors of the scene look very vivid in the rain. This came out really nice.

Hi Joan, thanks so much. I enjoyed playing in the dust. I'm happy to get out cards by Valentines. I still have a few to go!
