I sketched in the Canson Mix Media sketchbook, 9 x 12 inches, early this morning before I could get sidetracked. I did an outline sketch with pencil then used my mix of watercolors with the water filled brushes not a regular brush.

I think my background on the Christmas cactus bloom would have been better if I'd used a regular brush and wet the paper first. Live and learn.
I have two Christmas cacti growing at the moment but since they were moved here recently and haven't acclimated to our home they won't bloom this year.
We have a tiny bit of fall color in the yard an toward the easterly pond.
That was accompanied by a beautiful sunset later toward the westerly pond .....
