Enid Wood (https://enidwood.com)has us thinking about transparency in pastel painting. It requires a light touch and to really look and see light and dark. I like painting glass. Many, many years ago in a class in Bolivia with Yolanda de Aguirre gave me some good instruction. She said, "Don't paint a bottle or glass, just paint light and dark. The shape will appear. It has been good advice.
My sketch/painting for today will serve for practice and also for items in Scavenger Hunt from Life 90 for items "made of glass" and "something sweet".

Number 4 made of glass - I have two glasses this size and 2 larger ones that Gene's sister gave me because I like red so much. Love them.
Number 5 something sweet - cinammon candy is sweet and a bit spicy. A favorite in our house.
Like all my "junk" I have sketched the glasses many times. I need to think of another transparent thing to paint for class. We had some interesting fog the other day. That isn't really transparent, is it? It does block the view. Hmmm. Maybe a curtain or filmy scarf or blouse. Water?? We shall see.
