What Did I Do for Fun?

I didn't sketch yesterday.  While sidding on the porch this morning  I was wondering what we did for fun.  Ahh, we went to lunch with Joanna to Bassano's and had some great Italian food.  It was a good lunch and a good day.  Leftovers on hand for this evening.

Saturday as you know was football day and most of our teams won.  We went shopping for new mattresses for our beds.  After we purchased some to be delivered in a couple of weeks, we went to Kyoto for a late lunch/early dinner.  Food is always good there as well.  I took a couple of photos to "paint".  I often do that and then it is not as exciting to paint from photos and the inspiration fades.  I've sketched there before, but didn't on Saturday.

This morning, Gene rode his trike.  I pulled a folding chair into the driveway and sketched in the BookFactory sketchbook with a Micron 03 for Scavenger Hunt from Life 82   https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-82-aug-30-sep-7.5944/

Number 7, entrance - I planned on sketching the walk-in door and the open door and started on the closed door side ... sigh.

Number 8, hot - I turned around and sketched the hot and dry landscape.

You can see how hot and dry it is.  Perfect for the crazy wildfires.  Fingers crossed.  Luckily the fire departments have put out most before they get out of hand.  Scary.  People still burn trash and throw out cigarette butts from their car.  Yikes!

Thanks to our first responders!!

.... and Happy Labor Day!  Gene says we should work since it is Labor Day.

It is nice that you took a break and went out to eat. Hoping to do that tonight. It is a hot one here and I don't want to cook. :)

Joan, thank you so much. If we don't drink wine it is almost as cheap to eat out and not throw away stuff at home. We end up throwing fresh stuff away. Also eating out we usually have left overs for another meal.
