No Pressure Fun

Today was art with no pressure.  On CreativeSpark one of the August prompts was "whimsical".  I thought of my doodles or Joodles.  I did these in the Book Factory sketchbook on the back side.  I posted them on the thread on CreativeSpark.art.   https://creativespark.art/threads/monthly-art-prompts-august-2023.5841/

The other prompts are "urban" and "primative".  If you sketch or paint from the prompts let me know.

These Joodles don't mean a thing but sometimes they end up looking like something.  I Joodle when I don't feel like painting but want to do something.  Good for listening to a podcast or ???  I should have made new Joodles for the thread, but these are a few days old and not posted anywhere else.

Then this morning I was thinking about the watercolor window from Thursday and decided to do "my" window in blue.  I made it all up.  I see now that I should have had the window sill inside like in real adobe houses where with the thick walls, you can use the ledge for a window seat.  I loved that in the old house we had in Magdalena.  I would sit in the window and watch the "traffic" go by.  Maybe two cars a night.

It was almost fun to do the watercolor even if it wasn't exactly what I imagined.  I'm not skilled enough with them to get the design of the painting.  With pastels I try to have a focal point, make the corners different and a composition to lead the eye around the painting.  With the watercolors, I am working on how much water, blooms, making mud, etc.   I thought this wasn't too bad until I realized I had the sill backwards.    I will show you the painting anyhoo.....  It was practice and no pressure.

Our neighbor and famous singer/songwriter, Libby Koch, will be performing at the Bugle Boy tomorrow, or today when you read this, Saturday, August 5.  Show starts at 8 but you should be there by 730 to get a good seat.  Libby has an amazing voice.  Get tickets at

https://thebugleboy.org

Most of the shows are streamed and you can tune in that way if you can't make it in person.

The Bugle Boy is a wonderful listening room with a fun staff and great shows.  Check out the schedule if you can't come tomorrow.
