A Watercolor and Digital Day

Yesterday was a good day.  Gene rode his trike outside and I rode the stationary bike.  He was gone past his time to take a pill so I drove out to take it to him.  On the way back I noticed again a neighbor has a suit of armor in his yard.  I had my new sketchbook for the car, right?  I turned around and parked across the street and was sketching.  After some time,  the neighbor and the guy next door walked across to see what the suspicious person was doing.  "Do you need help?" they asked.  "No, I'm sketching. I live right down the street."  Then they realized they knew me.

Number 5, anything - the neighbor's yard.  In the Strathmore Visual Journal with the Acurit pen.  I added the watercolor at home.  I didn't want to overstay my welcome.  I did leave out a lot of stuff the car was in the way so I couldn't see some things.  There is another flag of some sort and more plants and things on the wall.  I left out the door, too.  I made the porch into a shadowbox.

Later I went to the Bastrop Roadhouse to pick up our dinner to go.  I saw the yellow umbrella and thought of the item, yellow, on the list.  I had to hurry as the food would be out shortly.  They were very busy so I had about 10 minutes to sketch.

Number 6, yellow - the umbrella at the Roadhouse.  It is an old rusty tin building with about 8 tables and umbrellas outside.  They were closed for a week for updating inside, we need to check it out.  We usually get take out there and eat inside at the Roadhouse in Paige.  The restaurant in Paige is larger and no waiting to sit down.  Bastrop has a waiting line very often when you can't sit outside because of weather.  Same good food at both locations.

I found a t-shirt from one of the paint outs in Questa, NM.  I barely wore it.  I like it.  Hmmm.  Hidden under the baseball shirts I guess.

A good time was had by all.

Our grand dogs were enjoying some of the recent sunshine.  Chewbacca and Reese.  So cute.

I've been enjoying my Bob Ross Calendar that I got for Christmas.  I can see it from my computer chair.

We made it to a baseball game.  I do like that!

Kennedy batting, I forget who was on base.  Pretty sure Kennedy would bunt.  He has more infield hits than anyone on the team.  He is fast and beats the bunts to first base so often.  Fun to watch.

Daly getting a hit, maybe he is the one on base when Kennedy was batting.

I wonder how many baseball photos I have where I didn't name the players.  Thousands I bet.  Most are in my iPhoto and haven't been sorted or bad ones deleted.  Probably take a week to sort.  Yikes.

I smiled when I saw the Bob Ross calendar. Where are the fluffy little clouds? Good story about sketching from the car. I've had people come over to me and ask me the same thing. I guess it isn't that usual for people to just sit across from your house.

Thanks, Joan. You paint in the neighborhoods much more than I do. Especially now, on the neighborhood apps people are always pointing out loiters in cars. Ha.

Hmm, I don't think that is the t-shirt I got in Questa. I got paint all over mine anyway.

bag blog, I'm not sure about that t-shirt. We had lavender ones from the last time we painted I think. I was never comfortable to wear it. This black one was buried under baseball shirts and hasn't been worn much. Hmmm.
