A Primary Sketch Yellow

Yesterday found us at the eyeglass place to get Gene's new glasses adjusted and then the dentist.  I sketched in the car while we waited for appointment time.  The dentist's office is by the railroad tracks.  I sketched the train work cars across the street.  An item for the Hunt was "primary color" so the train cars were yellow.  Good find, especially yellow, I have trouble finding yellow in our house.

For Scavenger Hunt from Life 55

Then while Gene was in his chair I sketched "something bigger than a breadbox".  The shelves behind him.  They serve as a dividing wall to the hallway.  The assistant can go around to the dentist's side that way and not go around the end of the chair where I was sitting.    The odd thing on the right is a monitor where they can see the records while Gene is there. The cabinets are silver metal and the wall is dark wood.  The cabinet has frosted glass so you can't see details of what is inside.

I'm not fond of dentist office visits in general and found it hard to concentrate there so the sketch is a bit on the wild side.  The dentists and their staff in this office are very nice and we have been pleased to use their services.  It is Spring Street Dental on Chestnut Street.  (Smile)  You can get a crown in one afternoon start to finish.  Amazing.

I sketched in the Ohuhu sketchbook with a Micron 03 pen.  I added watercolor to the top sketch at home.

A bit of interest, the Lost Pines Art Center is to the left of the train work area.  Another time, I could back into the parking and sketch that.  Something to think about.

Nice sketch of the train cars. Lucky view!! I have a hard time finding yellow things at home too. I always fall back to lemons. :)

I've never sketched at my dentist's office. I never wait more than a few minutes and the place isn't set up with good views.

Joan, thank you. Your latest sketch of big equipment prompted me to look at that train working station. Thanks!! I don't usually sketch at the dentist when it is me. I sketched out the window last time, waiting on Gene. Looks at the City Hall or Farmers market across the train tracks. I think the building is an old depot. All modern and rebuilt. Do have the benches in the waiting area.

Dentists offices are never pleasant. My dentist is the husband to my painter buddy, Barb. He has several of her paintings around the office, which makes it better. He did have the colorful skylights for when you are sitting in the chair looking at the ceiling. Then they took those out :(

I like the yellow train cars.

bag blog, nice to know your dentist! Not sure what those work cars are. They aren't on the main track so there must be a short cut off for them. I wasn't close enough to see and I can't remember. Sigh.....
