Taking a few minutes to sketch this morning at the dining table. Jennie and I will make biscochitos later and fix dinner. We are having pork brisket, a first for that. Hope it comes out good.

Jennie and I will be making Salty Dogs to drink while we cook. Another tradition started by my father. We will see how many traditions we'll recall in this week and weekend.
I have posted about how color is affected by its surroundings, here is an article by Gurney.

Nice sketch Jo
How did the pork brisket turn out?
-- Joanna.
Jo wonderful sketch. Are not traditions what make Christmas time such a memorable event? Hope you are enjoying this blessed season. Hugs!
Don't think I've ever tried a salty dog. Enjoy them and enjoy all your company!! Merry Christmas!
Joanna, thanks for stopping by. The pork brisket was not satisfying. It had more bones and fat than it appeared to have. Easier and probably just as tasty to have ribs or a roast.
Debbie, you are so right. The traditions and memories are so much fun. Thanks and hugs back to you.
Joan, Salty Dogs in my life started at the rodeo dances. The men would pass around a bottle of whiskey or drink beer. My mom and some of her friends would make a gallon jar of salty dogs to drink at intermission when the guys had their drinks. I like grapefruit juice so I picked up drinking them from my Dad. We had margaritas today while we finished cooking the tamales and played some cards ... Telefunken a progressive rummy game.
