Watercolor and Ink View

We walked out by the ponds.  It is beautiful but the water is getting very low, an island out in the middle as you see.  We do need rain in the worst way.

Number 7, view - looking across the pond/lake from one of the benches.

I took the Ohuhu sketchbook with some watercolors and the Ohuhu pens.  I did forget to take any paper towels to clean the brushes.  I sketched the scene and added the color back at the house.  I could have wiped the waterbrushes on my jeans if I had been wearing old jeans.  Dang.

I liked the sketch a lot in just the ink.  I should have scanned the before and after.  The shadows were more dramatic that way.  The roofs were tin roofs but I failed to put the dark behind them so I made them red for the sketch.   The artist license comes in handy on occasion.

We had sandwiches from the Roadhouse in Bastrop.  I was surprised the umbrellas weren't open, so no sketch.  Another day.

Sorry the water is so low from the lack of rain. Hope you get some soon. I like the colors you used in this. Looks good!

Joan, thank you.. The ponds were dry the year we moved here and of the fire. It took a couple of good years to get them to overflow. So there is hope!!
