The Hunting Continues

Sketching for the Scavenger Hunt from Life 16.

We have been watching a series about George Washington on TV.  Yesterday,  I was playing games on my iPad and decided to sketch the characters in the program.  I decided it was like "sketching from life" as they were definitely on the move and I did not pause the images.  They didn't show each person too many times so there is no resemblance to the real people and probably not much resemblance to the actors either.

It was good practice to at least get the general look of their clothes and hair.  I do need more practice in that regard.  Joan Tavolott has been sketching 100 people a week in a challenge.  I can't find 100 people around here.  Just me and Gene!  Link to Joan's blog to see her sketches starting on Day 1 and you can go from there:  http://watercolorsbyjoan2.blogspot.com/2022/03/one-week-100-people-day-1.html

For my Scavenger Hunt

Number 2, people - with a brush similar to a pen for sketching on my iPad with the app, Brushes.

Today I was listening to the baseball game on the internet and sketched on my iPad with the same app with some color.  I usually keep score so don't have time to sketch during baseball.  (The Longhorns won over South Carolina there 9-5.  It was cold and windy in South Carolina as well.  The game was postponed for rain last night and they will have a double header tomorrow.)

Number 3, has wheels - Gene's walker.  He calls it his burrito as he used the seat to carry his "stuff" around and of course he can sit down if he wants to.

Hope you are having a good weekend.  It is a bit cold here so happy to stay in the house!

Good job sketching the people! It is hard to do them from a show without pausing. I try to find people who I know will probably stay still or return to the same position a lot. Due to Covid the "rules" for the challenge included sketching from models online as well as using photos. Of course I pushed myself to do all of them from life...except for the dog walker. I did her quickly to get her body position and then snapped a photo to finish.

Isn't it more practicle to watch a interview or conversation program without sound? You could even play some relaxing music ;-)
At least the people are sitting a bit more tight, ...

Love the challenge,I alway wanted to sketch someday on a larger trainstation but never came around it.

The Gen's walker is a real smasher, ... very nice.

Joan, ah, thanks. You spend so much more time sketching and painting than I do. You also push to complete challenges as challenged. That is the spirit of it. Sketching or painting from life is the best!

René, Thank you for your nice words. Sketching from TV was an afterthought. I should do it as you say. I like horses so that would be a good way to see some in movement. We have a TV channel that shows horse races all day! Music is always good when painting and sketching.
