I finally went sketching out and about in Bastrop. Gene started daily physical therapy for a month. I am the driver so I sketched while he worked out. Hopefully this will help him with his balance and walking. I will try to do some walking while waiting as well.
The prompts for Scavenger Hunt from Life 16 included animal and pole. I sketched in the 9 x 12 Canson regular paper sketchbook with a Micron 02.
The cows were far away. Gene says my sketch makes them look like pigs. Either way it is "animal". I left out a lot of detail in both sketches. It is nice to sketch something different.
The cactus near the fence was new to me. It has mini cactus pears on it. Searching on the internet it looks like it is a Pencil Cholla. I like that idea. Hope I can catch it when it blooms next year.
The Longhorns lost the game to the College of Charleston yesterday. Not sure why they are having difficulty. Maybe it is better now than the end of the season for the tournaments! They are supposed to play the Citadel tonight but it is raining in South Carolina so we shall see. You can stream or listen on the internet at texassports.com
