Sketching for SHFL

It is good to have some "new" things to sketch for the Scavenger Hunts from Life.  I've been sketching while waiting for Gene to do his physical therapy.  It was pretty dark this morning for taking a walk.  I sketched in the car (my portable studio as Joan calls it) in the 9 x 12 regular paper Canson sketchbook with a Sharpie fine line marker/pen.

Number 5, sculpture - I substituted this little play-scape as it has interesting shapes.
Number 6, fence - a pretty saggy sort of chicken wire fence around it at the corner of the building

Number 7, with buttons - radio in car
Number 8, with zipper - my purse

Number 9, container or something you cook (with) - an old fashioned pop corn popper in the waiting area of the car wash.  An old sign on top.  They have a few interesting things for decorations.  I bet there were some pottery sculptures there as well.  This is about 6 feet tall and a 30 inch square shape??  Red added with a Micron 02 at home.

There is some sort of extreme exercise classed on the back side of the physical therapy place.  When I walked the other day I heard a spin class going on with a "drill instructor" yelling out "orders" like "Kick it up!!"  Then today as we left, there were some women dragging big old tires down the road.  I won't be joining that class!!

Next week Gene's therapy will be later in the day, so maybe I can walk again.  We will see.

I am procrastinating on our income tax and other paper work.  Sigh.....  It is crazy that we will pay taxes on the "free money" that the government "gave" us.  It was our tax money we already paid, right?  The government is going nuts!  They are all about getting re-elected and lining up jobs that will pay millions after they retire.  They already will get good income from our taxes!  They do very little governing which is what we elected them and pay them to do.  Alas and woe is me!

Jo I always enjoy seeing your scavenger hunt sketches. That certainly has to help so much in being able to draw a variety of things. Hope you are having a good week. Hugs!

lol portable studio, at least it has a seat and if it rains, you are covered 😀

Jennifer Rose, that is for sure. Joan Tavolott that comments here goes out in her car almost every day, rain - snow - or shine! She inspires me to do the same, but I am not very consistent.

Hi Debbie, thanks so much. It is always fun to sketch different things and good for the eye and fingers. I have missed our New Mexico trips for sketching and plein air.

I'm smiling that you have been able to find new things to sketch while waiting for Gene to do his PT. I get so tired of sketching the same things. It is nice to find some variety.

I love the way your mind works and you figure out how to switch the prompts to make them work for you. Sculpture - playground :)

I saw something recently that said rather than students getting a pass on their student loans, old people should get a pass on paying property tax after 65. Yeah baby!

Joan, thanks. I have enjoyed the portable studio. You do sketch a larger variety than I do. You inspire me to go out more.

bag blog, thank you. That was sort of a sculptured piece mostly just one molded form. I think the student loan deal is so unfair to the ones that have faithfully paid off their loans or have been. You are right, it should go to old folks! We pay a good hunk in property tax since there isn't any income tax in TX. They at least freeze our taxes at 65 so they don't continue to go up.
