Thinking of my mom today. Her birthday was March 7.

A couple of photos are missing on that post. Maybe I can find them and put them back. I still think I should call her once in a while when I see a rainbow or pretty sunset.
My sketches over the weekend and this morning:
For Scavenger Hunt from Life, Number 2, make something from paper and draw it. - I cut out a simple snow flake and then put my thumb over one spike and drew it wrong, then traced it and that wasn't much better. Pencil and Sharpie pen. I was tempted to just wad up a piece of paper and sketch that. I think it would have been better.
Number 3 elevated was the cieling light and wall hanging. Sharpie pen.
March 5 was Christy's birthday and also Donna. Happy Birthday!
Number 4, stuffed - toys on my studio table, watercolor and Sharpie pen.
This sketch serves double duty. For the Monthly Prompts on creativespark.art , purple, and for the Scavenger hunt from Life, Number 5, towel - substituted the folded reversible napkin, purple and yellow.
Sometimes sketching is not only like homework it is also make-up work. Not my thang, (as Bag Blog would say) the last couple of days.
I did enjoy listening to the Longhorn baseball games. They were in Houston at Minute Maid Park at a tournament to benefit the Shriner's Hospital. They played Tennessee on Friday night, winning 7-2. Then LSU on Saturday night winning 6-1. Undefeated at that point for the year. On Sunday afternoon they played UCLA and lost 1-5. The regular Longhorn starting pitcher for Sunday was changed and maybe that got their rhythm off. They have a rough couple of weeks with lots of travel coming up. They play Texas State in San Marcos tomorrow night, then again in Austin on Wednesday. It is supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow and 60s on Wednesday with rain so we will probably not go on either day. :-(
Then the weekend is in Columbia, SC, against South Carolina. and College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, on Tuesday. On Wednesday they play the Citadel also in Charleston. On March 18 back in Austin for Incarnate Word. You can see the schedule and find out if you want to watch or listen to the games there.

Maybe when they play in Austin on the 18th the weather will have improved! We had beautiful 75-80 the last couple of days. Always seems to get bad for baseball days. Soon it will be "hot" and I will complain about that.
The Austin Pastel show Celebrating Pastels is going strong in Austin and I have 2 paintings here in Bastrop. Schedules on my website under Events.

We went to the Art After Dark in Bastrop on Saturday evening. Didn't stay too long. They had a good crowd again. It was good to see old friends and make a couple of new ones.

always good to think of loved ones
Jennifer Rose, thank you so much. Yes, good to remember them. My mom was so special, to lots of folks not just me. :-)
[I still think I should call her once in a while when I see a rainbow or pretty sunset.]
You should, ... and post a lovely once along with it.
Thanks, René. I do post photos of sunsets when I can. I'm smiling.
I have been thinking of my mom more lately. Better memories - not the ones where dementia robbed us both of our close relationship.
bag blog, that is what we have to do, remember the good times. My mom always seemed to "come back" a little when she saw Jennie or David. Feel good moments. Thanks for stopping by.
