Gene had his teeth cleaned so I sat on the tailgate of the car and sketched "outside"! Getting out to sketch or paint seems like years ago. These two are in the small travel sketchbook with a Sharpie pen.

With all that's going on in the world wouldn't it be nice if everyone chose to react in a positive way? Here is a good post by John Weiss. I've linked to him quite a few times. He was a policeman and started his blog with cartoons about police. He has been painting and writing more. He rambles a bit sometimes but always a good read - for me. I was surprised to read about Roy Orbison's problems.

Another blog I follow is Kay Smith in Big Spring, Texas. I also follow her on creativespark.art
Kay experiments in so many different media. She paints mostly in watercolor but experiments in many things and ways. Her art is colorful and an inspiration to me. She paints daily and more than once a day sometimes. She gives workshops which you should try out if you can. Have fun checking out her work:

It is always fun to see your sketches. I like the Valentine candy box. I love chocolate but prefer solid chocolate over the filled pieces, unless they are filled with more chocolate. lol I will have to go over and check out John Weiss's blog, especially since it mentions something about Roy Orbison who is one of my favorites. I already follow Kay and it does seem like she paints several times a day. She is very prolific. Wishing you and Gene a Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Joan, thank you for the Valentine wish .... a bit late on the thank you. Roy Orbison was great. Kay is amazing and paints so much in so many different media. We are together on the chocolate. I like dark chocolate the best but Snickers is my all time favorite candy bar.
