It's been a busy week. Not so smoooooth. I always try to get in a sketch or two for the Scavenger Hunts no matter what else we do. Yesterday while Gene framed my pastels I sketched at my desk in the big book.
For the Scavenger Hunts from Life #3

Number 6, smooth
Number 7, texture
It was interesting that my objects fit the color of pens in the Zig Millenneum 05 pack of 5 colors. That is always good when you don't have to hunt tools when you are hunting for items for the sketch!
Gene got paintings framed and hangers on the acrylics. I made all the tags and information for the backs of the works and inventory for the Art Center.
Today I will bring home two paintings and deliver 4. It was interesting how long it took us to get these 4 paintings ready. I painted 3 acrylics so will have one on hand in case of a sale. I can't believe we used to fix up about 30 paintings and all the planning and advertising for a show. We would deliver it to New Mexico and hang and do shows, etc. Here all I have to do is take the paintings to the Art Center. I appreciate all their hard work.
I'll be back with info on the shows. Info is on my website at:

Getting ready to submit art or hang it, gets more and more difficult for me too - mostly because of the procrastinator in me.
Getting things ready for art shows seems to take a lot more energy these days. lol I not only needed framed paintings, but we bring matted pieces of various sizes as well as cards and anything else we want to sell. Of course the smaller things (less expensive) are the things that sell. I'm still working on mine. I have to bring them in next Tuesday. I am doing the receiving and other people in the group will do most of the hanging. Then the show is two days over that weekend. I always sit for both shows. My feeling is that if friends are going to come and see the show I'd like to be there. But by the end of Sunday we are all ready to go out and relax with dinner and a drink.
So cute.
Bag Blog, you know we are artist/sisters in our habits. I'll think about that tomorrow!
Joan, it can't be our age, right? I hope you have a great show. Would love to be there to see it!
R's Rue, oh, thank you. I'm smiling now.
preparing for a show can be stressful, obvs a bigger show is going to cause a few grey hairs lol
Oh Jo I am happy to read that you are taking some of your lovely paintings to the art show. I used to participate in our local art gallery in town but it has been several years since I have done any painting of that nature. Perhaps this winter I will find some time to get busy with painting again. In the meantime I hope you have a lovely weekend. Love your sketch! Hugs!
Thanks, Debbie. It is very hard to get back to the work of networking. The Art Center sold a painting of some apples so that makes me interested. Ha! I’ve been away too long.
Jennifer Rose, it is hard to get back to work and the longer we put it off the harder it is. Thanks.
Have a great weekend Jo
ashok, thank you. Back at you... It will be the first time at a live show in a long time!
