I wanted to play in the dust again today. Sometimes it feels good to be tactile with color and marks on paper. I like pastels for that very reason. I can draw but also get the feeling of painting with broad strokes or narrow marks.
I put up the list for Scavenger Hunt 694 of one word names of towns in Texas. It was fun to look around and find some names we could draw/paint/sketch. There are many others that are not so easy to draw but unusual like Athens, Atlanta, Santa Fe, Wells, Turkey, Cactus, Chico and on and on.
You might find the list interesting and find something to sketch or paint along with us.

Earth under the hedge and trees outside my window was a choice from the list that I liked.
Number 1, earth - outside my window with pastels on the paper that I had the elephant on from the previous post. The wipe off gave a dark background for the sketch.

Looks like a spotlight is shining on it. Nice!!
Thanks, Joan. It is pretty shaded under trees and hedge. It wasn't quite that light, but I wanted the dirt/earth to stand out.
Nice!
ashok, thanks. I like painting/sketching from life.
simple, but very lovely looking 😀
Jennifer Rose, funny how ordinary things can be so nice in a painting. An old jar or bucket or a weed. Love to find things that catch the eye.
