Smell the Coffee

I got up early and checked out my internet world, read blogs, email, etc.  Gene was not up so I drank some juice to be quiet.  When he got up and came to the kitchen, he made coffee.  That is his thing.  Years ago when he traveled so much for work, I would tease him and tell him that I didn't miss him except for missing my coffee in the morning.

On Scavenger Hunt 671
https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-671-mar-15-mar-23/
one of the items is "smells good".  I could smell the coffee and decided that was perfect for the Hunt.

Number 8, in a jar - some hot dill pickles
Number 9, smells good - fresh coffee

I sketched in the big book with a Micron 02, Prismacolor brush and chisel pens, Zig color pens and some strong coffee.  I was surprised how strong I had to make the instant coffee to get a dark color.

Another item on the list was "something you rarely use".  I put a little brass trivet in front of the pickles and then forgot to sketch it as I got so involved in the coffee.  So another time for the trivet.

While I was waiting to smell the coffee I also played in the watercolors for a bit.  I have painted these Bolivian flower pots so many times but not with watercolor.  This is small only about 4 1/2 by 7 inches in the watercolor sketchbook.

The pots are made of cement and are very heavy.  These two are about 26 inches and 34 inches tall.  When I see them I always think they are Bolivian women waiting patiently.  I call them Lady Pots.

I love the Bolivian flower pots. Do you have flowers planted in them?

Bag Blog, I never planted in them, just set pots in them. I didn't want them to bust out. Jennie has them at her house now. So unique in this part of the world. They are a favorite of our Bolivia "stuff".
