Frozen Heart Valentines Sunday

Happy Valentines Sunday!  It is blistery cold with ice on the trees.  It is supposed to be this way all week.  Yikes!  In keeping with the theme .. or not .. I sketched in the big book with a Micron 02 and colored pencils.  So  even though the heart in my sketch is not frozen, it is dang cold.

For Scavenger hunt 667, want to share - Coco, the Love Pup, with candy from Russell Stover.  I found Coco on my desktop this morning.  He is cuddly and soft.  Haven't tried the chocolates yet.  He is about a foot tall.  The sketch required color and in the big book that has to be colored pencil.  Not my favorite medium, but looks OK.  I think the rose is supposed to be in his mouth.  The rose and stem are also soft.

We weren't going out again yesterday but Gene had a hankering for fried chicken which I do not cook.  We called the Texas Grill and they were having it for lunch.  We went about 1:00 p.m. and they were out of fried chicken.  We had chicken fried steaks instead.  Which for you that do not know, it means the steak is fried in batter, like fried chicken, but no chicken involved.  We have leftovers for today.

The roads were dry so no problem with driving.  We are supposed to get more freezing drizzle or snow today and tomorrow.  We shall see.  Temps are supposed to stay freezing until next Saturday.  Will we have to move farther South?

Beautiful sketch Jo! Happy Valentines Day to you and Gene! I’m with you...life is too short to make fried chicken in my kitchen.

I think your weather is colder than it is here. lol That's unusual. Love Coco! Your sketch is so well done. Glad you got out despite the weather. I bought lobster meat, clams, oysters and soup for our dinner...now I'm stuffed. Happy Valentine's Day!

I love the pup and his rose. Toby braved Walmart and bought me some flowers. Silly man. Since the weather was freezing cold, but sunny on Saturday, we spent the day getting ready for the snow. It has been so cold here all last week, that I had gone through some firewood. So we cut and hauled more wood up to the house. This morning we got up to a dusting of snow. This evening we have several inches and it is still softly falling. I hear it is cold all the way to the tip of Texas. You may have to move back to South America.

Love the cuddly look to Coco!!! Well done.

Don't know if you ended up with snow. Our friends in Itasca posted photos of the snow on the ground and the temperature reading this morning. I was colder down there than it was up here. We just have damp and chilly today, although freezing rain is possible tonight. Stay warm and dry!

Rose, thank you so much. I got to read and post your comment but couldn't get back on line. I sure agree on chicken!

Joan, thank you, too. The little dog is so soft and cuddly. Sounds like a good Valentines dinner.

Bag Blog, happy you got flowers and set up for the bad weather. It is just so dang aggravating.

We had our first night of power all night since Sunday. We have water, but have to boil it to drink. Just like back in the old days! We are fine and I can probably post today!

Oh this is precious Jo. I rarely use colored pencils but I have been doing pencil sketches of faces over on Tic Tok, good practice. Stay warm, what the heck is happening with the Weather?

Barbara, thanks for coming by. I like to be in control of my publishing. We will see how long it lasts here. I like using my blog like a journal. I never could keep a written one but I've been at this since 2006, would hate to give it up.

The weather is a pain, but we are recovering. Internet and phone are never good here, but during the "ice age" it was worse than ever.

Jo I think your sketch is wonderful. You did a super job with those coloured pencils. I have used them but the patience they require makes them a challenge for me to use. Thank you for your words of comfort and visit to my blog. Hope you are warm and safe. We are hearing about Texas and the winter storm that has left many without power. I am "looking up for you." Hugs!

Debbie, good to hear from you. Thinking of you, too. Thank you, by now you should know we are fine. Colored pencils are boring to me. Others say they are calming with the repeated coloring. Not so much for me, I'm too impatient. Ha. Once in awhile is OK.
