Raising Cane - or Sketching

Not raising cane around here, I think that time has passed.  I did sketch in the big sketchbook with a Micron 02.

Number 1 - cane, some of Gene's many canes.  We had vowed to have no more collections of anything but you know how it is.

We made it home with no problems.  The rain on Wednesday was hard and continuous.  We were in between the ice and hurricane as were all the big trucks.  We survived and only saw one truck off in the median on I-40.  Between Nashville and Little Rock I-40 was a mess, more than usual.  I-30 from Little Rock to Texarkana wasn't much better.  The drive on home in Texas was light traffic and smooth sailing.  No more Interstates.

All is well here, but no rain.  Usually October is a rainy month.  Too bad the folks in Louisiana and area were hit with so much from Zeta.  Flooding is the worst.

Now we just need to adjust our time clocks and get with the program.

I enjoyed John Weiss'blog this week.  Good advice for art, work or life in general.

Welcome home! Sorry the weather on the trip wasn't so great. Good collection to sketch! Not what we usually think of for a collection, but it works!

Jo such a great sketch. Glad to read you got home safe. Sounds like you seen some bad weather in your travels. Your painting from the previous post was just gorgeous. Loved it. Hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs!

Joan, thanks. We had fun, but always good to be home. We really only had bad weather on the first day of driving back. We have much more stuff than we planned. Ha.

Debbie, thank you. Driving was not fun but we only saw one truck in a bar ditch. Amazing. Thanks on the Bob Ross painting. Must have been 20 years ago. I used to put on his VHS videos to put me to sleep with his soft voice. He was an inspiration to so many people.

I'm glad you made it home safe, too. Driving in rain is the pits. They say you are not supposed to use your cruise control in the rain, because it causes hydroplaning. No cruising makes for a long drive. The ice was bad here for a few days, but I stayed home. That storm also came with some rain. Autumn is speeding right along.

Bag Blog, yes we are pretty careful with the cruise control. We didn't get to use it much that day. Autumn here is wonderful, it's been about 80 in the daytime and 60 at night for good sleeping.
