The Scavenger Hunts often have odd items, but we have fun interpreting them in our own items and ideas. I played in the dust again today for my sketch.
For Scavenger Hunt 650

Number 4, crisp - a Honey Crisp Apple, they are so big and juicy but crispy. A favorite of Gene.
Number 5, under - the colander under the apple
Apples are my fall back item. Always a favorite to paint. The redder the better for me, like a Delicious Apple. The Honey Crisp was all we had here at the moment.
As always, it is good to eat the models.
Oh, did you read John Weiss' blog post for the weekend? It is titled "How to Restore your Spirit". He talks about how disconnected we have become from each other and how we are separating and cannot find middle ground. He puts such a good light and positive feel on things. I always feel better after reading his posts and seeing his drawings or paintings.

And here is a good song along the same lines by our good friends Tommy Byrd and Kathy Street, Byrd and Street. It is a fun rendition and with Greg Whitfield on guitar, even better. Higher Ground

Love the apple on the collander! Nice!! I like John's advice. It makes a lot of sense. Now I need to go listen to the music.
Joan, thanks so much. I love “seeing red”. In painting, that is. Lol. John has been fun and interesting.
What a beautiful shine and colors on the colander, Jo. Wonderful work...
hmuxo, thank you so much. Metal is fun to paint, especially silver and brass/copper.
I love the colander and the apple. You are the apple master painter! Keep this one! I may have to buy it or make a trade.
Thank you, Bag Blog. When we get back from our trip, maybe we can deliver the painting and paint more apples!
Cool painting, Mom. I'm jealous of Bag Blog! :-)
Nice blog post from John, too.
Joanna, thanks. You need to speak up! :-) John seems like one of the good guys. I first started seeing his police sketches/cartoons. Some were so clever and funny. I think I saw him through an artist that was a forensic artist and did a blog.
Jo your pastel of the apple (Honey Crisp are the best) and colander is a beautiful painting. I am going to now check out your links. It is always wonderful to visit you and feel inspired. Hugs!
