Pastel Sketch, Por Fin

Por fin (at last),  a pastel sketch.  I haven't been sketching, obviously.  I did get a piece of Pastelbord out and some pastels and spent an hour or so at the easel.  Always good to play in the dust.  I really like drawing and painting at the same time with pastels.  Pastels are a quick and forgiving medium.

It is also easier for me to show shapes with color and shadows.  Well, more volume than shape.  I lost my round plate and am not quite sure that I captured the clear insulated plastic glass holding my iced tea.  I didn't want to spend too much time on this as it was a sketch and not a painting.

Number 1, something icy
Number 2, something fruity

I'm not a fan of cantaloupe but I did eat all the models and am drinking on the tea.

I took the photo out on the sidewalk.  I came in uploaded it and started the resizing and checking.  Found a little friend crawling over it.  Hmmm.  Had to go take another photo.

A bit buggy.

Some things we saw from the porch this morning.  Hope the lizard gets some of the little spiders that have been around.

Glad you got out the pastels for this yummy looking plate of fruit and the glass of iced tea. Nicely done!

Thanks, Joan. Regina has encouraged me to sketch my snacks. Fun.

Your fruit looked real enough for a fly to come check it out. I think the drinking cup looks good too. Glad you played in the dust.
