Another Year Older and Deeper in Debt Sketch

Yep, older but not really deeper in debt.  I think that is from "16 Tons" by Tennessee Ernie Ford.  It is but it is "another day older".  It is a regular thing for Gene's and my birthdays to go on and on.  Usually we are traveling in August and September so the two of us celebrate each birthday.  We arrive home and have a day with our adult kiddos here.

This year we got together a couple of weeks ago to celebrate with the kids.  We went out to dinner the two of us for Gene's birthday and today Joanna is taking us to lunch.  Tonight we are actually going to a "live" play at the Bastrop Opera House.  We will have to wear masks, social distance and no food, but we will get to interact with real people somewhere besides at restaurants. Looking forward to that.

I sketched this morning in the dining area in the big book with a Micron 02 and colored pencil.  For Scavenger Hunt 647  https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-647-sep-4-12/page/4/

Number 5, something you were given - a little Minnie Mouse left by my computer by the Birthday Fairy.  I only sketched the mouse so I would have something new to sketch another time.

Here is a photo of both as they welcomed me this morning.  Dangler and Minnie.  Dangler's tag says,

"You will find me way up in the trees
I hang upside down and swing in the breeze.
My Birthday is February 22."

He doesn't have a tail, don't know how he hangs.  His paws are glittery.  So cute.  Thanks, Birthday Fairy.

I had planned to pay for lunch but I went to the bathroom and Dad was paying when I got back. I'll have to remember that strategy next time I'm out with friends!

Happy Birthday!!! I'm glad you are continuing to celebrate!

Ha, Joanna. Your dad told Roger and says that is an age old trick! My dad said that was an Albert Harrington trick, especially at the Cattleman's Convention when the bill was big!

Happy Belated Birthday wishes Jo!!! Love the Minnie sketch ...always a good practice. I haven't been painting too much but I've been repainting a few pieces that needed fixing. Instead of throwing them out its nice to at least try to change it.... I'm ready to go out to a Restaurant but it seems everyone is still a bit frightened... A few restaurants are opened but since they have outside dining its getting too cool outside for me....Keep celebrating your birthday!!! sending hugs

hmuxo, Thank you so very much. It is hard for me to get excited about painting, but I keep trying. Happy you are at least keeping your fingers busy. We have been able to eat out for a while. We would really go stir crazy if we couldn't do that. I finally have a "date" to go out sketching with a friend on Thursday. Yay!

What a sweet birthday fairy you have! Hope your day was great. I recognized the Tennessee Ernie Ford song. Does that make me old, too?

Bag Blog, Thank you, fun to find the little toys in the morning.
The song just says a day older, so guess that does apply to us all in that sense, not old in total. Ha.
