When sketching from the same spot, an artist can wonder which way to look to capture something different. The bench we frequent can overlook the lake or the trail. Been there and done that, right? So a close up of something ..... thing with seeds .... was on the Scavenger Hunt list. The seeds on the tall grass were perfect for the seedy sketch.

Number 1, thing with seeds
We sat on the bench and listened to a book. We've been listening to Michael Connelly's Bosch series. The first was read by the actor that plays Bosch on the Amazon Prime series, Titus Welliver, and Christine Lakin. This second one is read by Dick Hill. We watched a few on-line but our internet is so slow that it is not enjoyable and watching uses all of our data. We like listening which we usually do in the car. Our long trips go by much faster when listening to books.
I am still fiddling with the pastel. Soon to be done, I hope.

I like the seedy sketch. I made for a nice pen and ink type drawing - maybe it is frameable in its simplicity. Toby and I haven't listened to a book since we have not been traveling to see his mom every weekend. We both like to listen to spy/mystery/action type books like Lee Child, Baldacci, and Silva. But I have been reading quietly lately.
Nice textural look to this!!!
I've listened to books on tape when I've traveled with Michelle. Jerry isn't one to listen to books in the car.
Bag Blog, thanks. It was. A nice sketching time. We listen mostly to mysteries, too. Always listened to Hillerman's Navajo Police when in New Mexico.
Joan, thank you. We’ve listened for years. I have to be careful when I’m driving to not get too involved in the narrative. Ha!
Jo you chose a favorite subject of mine. I have always enjoyed weeds and seed pods for sketching. I have been considering listening to a book on audio while I doodle or sketch. Just may have to treat me a good one when fall comes and I am indoors more. Take care and have a delightful weekend.
Debbie, hi and thanks. Usually we just listen to books in the car. When I paint and sketch I like nature's noise. These last two times it’s been good while we sit for about 20 minutes.
Lovely fragile, ...
Thanks, Rene. Sketching outside isn’t quite PleinAir like you paint. But, always good to get out. Your last windmill is great.
Love that sketch!
Joanna, I like it as well. I'm smiling.
