Gene is my perfect model. He is so patient and rarely says much about the sketches of him. Once in a while he says he looks fat or skinny. He never complains about me posting them on my blog. I'm not sure I would be the same. I don't like having my photo taken .. maybe because the photo looks like me.
We walked down by the westerly lake today. The ponds/lakes are getting so low. We need some big rain to fill them up. We sat on a bench for a while and I sketched. It was noonish so pretty warm, but a nice breeze and shade, so not too bad.
These are for Scavenger Hunt 642 https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/scavenger-hunt-642-july-26-aug-3/
Number 2 hat, Number 3 sunglasses and Number 4 something old - Gene I tried to get him smiling and messed up the teeth. Blame it on the wind......
Number 5, free sketch - a bit of landscape while we enjoyed the quiet time and view, then came on back to the house.
My website is on FASO, Fine Art Studios On Line, now and they have a monthly competition between artists that are inclined. This watercolor painting was a wow. Have a look.

LOL Most of the time if I sketch Jerry it is from the back. He gets antsy if he knows I'm sketching him. That watercolor painting of the thread looks like a photo!
Hi, Joan. Models can be fidgety for sure. That watercolor is amazing, wow!
I have sketched Toby a few times. He is probably not as good as Gene for sitting still and being patient. I like sketching people, but I get worried over what they will think. The watercolor threads are amazing. Someone had some patience.
Bag Blog, I'm not good with sketching or painting people. For the Hunts is about the only time I try, so don't get enough practice. I think you are good at capturing the likeness of people. We will have to get Gene and Toby together for a sketch.
Ha ha. Something old. :-)
The watercolor you linked to is impressive. But, I'd rather a watercolor look like a watercolor. :-)
Joanna, I guess old is in the perception. I don't think either one of us think we are old until something like this comes up. I sometimes think, I should get a job so I wouldn't be so lazy .. but wait, where? and doing what? Ha.
Following up on the "old" thing. I was looking at something online the other day and my age was printed on it and it just looked so wrong: 57. What? How in the world can I possibly be 57? It looked much worse written down than it sounds said aloud. Ha!
(Yes, I'm looking back trough the archives trying to see what I missed.)
Oh, Joanna. I don't think of me as old until I see you thinking you are old! Yikes. It does look worse on paper. Look at mine, 78. Double Yikes...
