An X-tra large Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  Wishing you the best for 2020!

I sketched while Gene went into our grocery store, H.E.B.  I was doing fairly well and a pickup pulled in and I had to go to memory so left off some of the stuff on the sign, gas prices I think.  I sketched on my iPhone with my fingers and the Brushes app.

Number 10, X-tra large - The sign is huge to be seen from the freeway in the background.  The gas station and car wash to the right.  The X-tra large store is behind me.

I'm always happy that we have such a great grocery store.  I am so spoiled.  It is hard to imagine all the choices we have.  Growing up in a small town we were lucky to have one choice in the basic items in the local store.  TV dinners were new in the late 50s, so few frozen food choices. There was very little produce.  The meat was cut by a butcher and wrapped in white paper.   I remember when whipped cream showed up in a can.  We were at a friends for Thanksgiving and the cream was sprayed all over the dining room.  Funny.

Guess I will see all y'all next year!

Hi Rose, thank you. I have fun with the digi stuff once in a while. With practice it gets easier, time consuming to do detail. I usually do it like an ink sketch and don't use the undo button too often as you can tell. :-) I can sketch on paper much quicker..

Joan, Happy New Year! Thanks, I could have moved a couple of spaces over. That is the laziness in me. Sigh.....

only one chain of grocery stores here, the Co-op and the prices and selection are not very good. thankfully we are only 15 minutes from a bigger town with more choice :)

Jennifer Rose, thanks. Good you have a Co-op. Our old hometown in New Mexico only has a Dollar Store now. Grocery store closed. They have a 27 mile drive to Wal-mart or a Co-0p style grocery. Town is going backwards.

not really a co-op you get there, link more of like a big business that says they are for the people but are not.
