Inktober Day 31 - Ahhh, the End

Happy Halloween!  Today is the end of Inktober.  I am happy to be off of a schedule and will continue sketching as always.

Inktober Day 31, ripe - the ripe pumpkin is in the pie!  Inktense pencils and a Prismacolor 05.  This is in a Canson Multi-Media sketchbook.

Hope you all have a good Halloween.  We bought chocolates in case we get trick or treaters.  We have never had any in Bastrop with all the events that are downtown.  You never know, though so we've got some good candy!

still haven't made a pie with the pumpkins we grew, but did make cornbread and cheesecake with some of them :) no point making a pie really, no one but me would eat it lol

Even though pumpkin pie isn't a favorite, your painting of it is!! lol Its hard to believe its November... My Halloween was wonderful. We had SO many kids and was able to get rid of all the goodies. My favorite is when the little ones that just about make it to the door come around... So cute and they take me back many years when my own children went trick or treating. Believe it or not, I wasn't allowed to go out when I was a child...my Dad always bought me lots of candy for that day... they were safer days and yet he didn't trust anybody...lol

Jennifer Rose, I've never had pumpkin cornbread, sounds great. I usually make pies on Thanksgiving. Sometimes use pumpkin for carrot cake when I don't have carrots. Usually pumpkin from a can. I found a recipe from Libby's or an old cookbook that said to put the canned pumpkin in a saucepan and cook it a bit where it sort of crystalizes the natural sugar in it before using in the pie. It seems to make a nice flavor to it. Some of us like pumpkin and the others like pecan pie, so have to do both.

Joan, you are so right. The schedule and deadline in my head made it tougher to get to the end. I sketch better on my own "no time line". Still can be once a day. :-)

Hmuxo, thank you so much. My ink colors are limited, I was wishing for a pastel a day. :-) Fun to have the kiddos for trick or treat. One year in Peru we had so many we ran out of goodies. We did get to go trick or treating in our small town in New Mexico. We got candy corn and penny candy mostly. One house gave a whole Hershey's candy and a cup of cocoa. We loved to go there last and get warm.

The pie looks yummy, Jo. As always, I enjoyed browsing your blog (you post so faithfully, more often than I can come around to see what you are doing!). The pastel of desert snow in your previous post is stunning, and the original post you linked us to is very interesting. You use the orange/blue compliments beautifully, and the whites are lovely. I mostly need to represent white in clouds or occasionally in surf (we don't see much snow in north FL :>), and also mix white with warm or cool hues--amazing how it ends up looking whiter than pure white would have.

Mary, you are always so thoughtful and nice to come by for a visit. Painting white is very interesting ... and fun. We don't get much snow here in Bastrop either. My snow is in New Mexico.
Are you working on painting or scarves? Loved your photos of Yellowstone.
