Continuing in the big coffee table sketchbook with a Micron 01 was on the menu today. Also a continuation of the pecking birds finds its way into my sketching world.

Number 1 wildlife - the real birds
Number 2 animal figurine - the scarecrow owl
As you know, the owl did not bother the Eastern Bluebirds. They use it for a perch. Very convenient. They are also sitting on a planter hook by the porch and have made a big mess on the base of the porch. Yesterday we put some sort of sticky stuff that is supposed to keep swallows off the walls, etc., where they build their nests. Hopefully the Bluebirds won't like it either. We haven't seen them this morning, but it is still a bit early and cool. Maybe the season for flying into the window is past, too. Gene did order an owl with a bobbing head which is supposed to be better. It should be here tomorrow.
Our spare time is back with The University of Texas, Longhorn Baseball. The 8th game is today. So far, they are 5 - 2. The series with Purdue ends today. Texas is ahead 2 - 1. In the loss yesterday, the Horns only had one, yes, one hit and lost 4 - 0. Sigh..... Better luck today, as the number 1 team in the nation, LSU, comes to Austin next weekend. Hook 'em Horns!
Gene has seen a bike trail along highway 71. He wants to try it out today if we can figure out how to get on it on the way home. Hope he makes it. He really likes riding his newish Catrike.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Catching up on your last few posts. Hope you find a solution to the bluebird problem. Don't want them to keep bouncing off your window. lol Love the fountain a few posts back! Nice lighting on it.
Thanks, Joan. The old fountain was interesting. We were gone most of the day yesterday and didn't get to see if the owl and sticky stuff worked together on the birds. Will let you know.
I have to admit I was laughing with your last post when the bird perched itself on the owl that was supposed to scare him away!!!! Love your sketch, my friend...
have a wonderful day!!!!
I once had a scissor tail that kept beating at my window. It was like he was fighting his reflection.
Baseball season is a sure sign that spring is on its way.
hmuxo, ha, thanks. Crazy, eh? We will see what happens. We put some sticky stuff on the head and window sill. The birds were still pecking the window and landing up higher than we could reach with the sticky stuff, not on the owl. Maybe the new bobble head one will keep them away.
Bag Blog, they do seem to be attacking. It must be mating season or something. We weren't here all day, but they were not around as much this morning.
