Procrastinating ... Again! (paintings)

I have not been productive with my art in quite a while ... as you know.  My previous post was "Back to Normal" and that is an understatement.  Nothing clicking..

A very appropriate post came up on the RedDotBog about how productivity helps your work.

https://reddotblog.com/artistic-productivity-cornerstone-of-a-successful-art-career-19/

I was thinking about my most productive years and they seem to be about 2008-2011.  I had my own gallery/studio downtown and a regular schedule for painting, even at home.  I would abandon the computer and telephone and just work.

Here are a few paintings from that time.  These are also some of my favorites.  Just think what might happen if I became busy again.

La Paz Bolivia Market, 16 x 20 inches, pastel

 Evett's in the Evening, 10 x 8 inches, pastel

 Blue Window, 11 x 14 inches, pastel

 Cool Water, 10 x 8  inches, pastel

Water Canyon, 14 x 11 inches, pastel

Along the Rio Grande, 10 x 8 inches, oil on canvas

The article was an interesting read. Thanks for sharing it! These are nice pieces. I wonder what we would be looking at if your inspiration had continued.

hmuxo, thank you, thank you. Kind words always boost the spirits! My thinking mood has improved, so hopefully. How are you doing? Hope you are back full force soon.

Thanks, Joan. Seems like energy creates energy. I'm optimistic. You stay so busy, maybe that is why you get so much done. Hugs.

It is not as though you aren't doing art, you do. Maybe you want to do more "sellable"
art - if that is the right word. I love it that you still do lots of sketching and you took a watercolor class. That's something! Better than nothing! I'll head off and read the link now.

Thanks, Bag Blog. I haven't sketched for a few days either. This cold has me foggy and sleepy. Excuses, excuses......right? I've been watching Rae Andrews youtube stuff, makes watercolor look easy. Ha.

you def need your own studio again :)

"Is it Quality or Quantity? Yes." I guess that means to keep at it. It is rainy and cold here today. I already slept in, so now I guess I'd better art.

Jennifer Rose, It wasn't as much going to the studio as it was just going to work. I have a great studio here in the house and I feel guilty for not making better use of it. I need the schedule and kick it into gear. One of these days......

Bag Blog, sure hope you are arting. I've got some good plans as soon as I get back from this cold ... cough, cough. Went to the doctor and he said I have a sinus infection so antibiotics now. Drat.

I remember these - loved them all, especially Blue Window and La Paz Bolivia Market! Really lovely!

Regina, thank you. I like windows and doors, don't know why I don't paint more. Of course I loved Bolivia. Great memories from there ... and two kids.
