End of 2018 Sketch

2018 is winding down.  A pretty quiet day in our world.  It has been "cold" the last couple of days.  Low to mid 40s.  Cold for us.  We are supposed to get sunshine this afternoon so folks can see their fireworks.  We have had some rain, so hopefully no fires tonight.

I finally got out the big sketchbook yesterday.  Maybe a sketch today as well??  Who knows?  This was done with the Micron 01 and colored pencil added.

For Scavenger Hunt 570  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1458710Number 1, 2, 3 - tea, sweetener and red ribbon

Watercolor doesn't work well in the big book, neither does pastel.  Ribbon is fun to paint in pastel.  Did you hear that?  I said "fun to paint".  Maybe I am remembering good things.

Jo, I am always impressed by your sketches of random things from these scavenger hunts and by your creativity in responding to the challenges. Your sketch of "under something" made me smile--happy Christmas times. I hope your time with family was fun and meaningful; our holiday family gatherings were especially wonderful this year. Don't forget your "fun to paint" comment :>).

I read an article about making your studio comfortable - a place you want to be. The article was in Watercolor magazine. I've been working toward that. I want painting to be fun, too.

Bag Blog, you are right. I planned to have a love seat or some comfortable seat. The work desk/table takes too much room and I just have an antique office chair for visitors or me. Ha. I also think you and I have a problem of our studio being a collection area for "stuff" that arrives with no place to put it. Always end up with boxes, mail, purchases to be returned, etc. No fun to decide to do art and the space isn't ready. I'm working on that....
