555 Hunting Big

For Scavenger Hunt 555,
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1453129

I made a basic one word list.  I did say kitchen item instead of just kitchen.  Sometimes I like a list with precise items like "chair".  You don't have to think to much to find a chair to sketch.  This list is about half and half.  It starts with aromatic, which I misspelled as aeromatic.  Many things are aromatic and it may take a while to think of something that you have to draw.  One of the artists drew a sprig of rosemary.  Mmmm.  At home I would have rosemary, but here, no.  When a word is like that you have a lot of leeway in what you find to sketch.

I put "moth" on the list.  I doubt I will find a moth to sketch, although there was one on the screen door the other day.  Maybe one of the artists will find a butterfly or a dead fly as a substitute.  Maybe a butterfly pin or knick knack.   We shall see.  Joan drew a boat for vehicle.  Not a real surprise as she visits the beach and marinas quite often.

Here are my two sketches for the day.  I sketched in the Canson Mix Media, 7 x 10 inch, travel sketchbook with the Sharpie Pen.  I sat on the downstairs deck in the shade.  It was a beautiful sunshiny day of about 70 degrees.

Number 4, vehicle - the red pickup next door.  Why are cars so difficult?  Is it all the curves?

Number 5, big - the big pines across the street.  They are huge compared to the little 20 foot tall spruce or fir in the yard.

Here is the list in case you decide to sketch with us, but don't want to post.  You may get an idea and be inspired to sketch along.....  Just remember, items need to be from life and not a photo.

I find cars/trucks hard to draw too. That's why I went with the boat. lolI guess that's why they have car designers. Nice sketches!

Joanna, thanks. I don't know why it doesn't work on phones. I haven't tried. Hmmm.
