Fooled you! I got my pastels out this morning and did my sketch on MiTientes paper with pastels. Not throwing out the pastels as you might have thought. I probably should get rid of them, haven't been using them. Hopefully I will get going.
Joan invited me to paint with her class on Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. at the ranch. Maybe I can get there on time. Sounds fun and not so hot, temperature wise. I will paint with my pastels and start warming them up for the summer.

Number 1, collectable - some of my non collection. I was not going to collect mugs again, but you see what happens.... Gene, who is the one that decided "no collections", even bought the red, white and blue mug for me. I use it a lot! Jo Watts made me the one with my name on it. The turquoise inside with the thunderbirds on it is from New Mexico. The Longhorns mug is cracked so I don't use it. Grandkids gave me the Kentucky mug and so it goes....... I haven't counted, but the non collection is growing.
The doctor took Gene off his Parkinson meds and put him back on at different dosages. I hope this keeps him going better. Being off was very hard and seemed to really set him back. He did ride his trike today, so that is a plus. He does so well with his riding. I'm sooooo lazy.
We plan our summer in New Mexico so he needs to get in shape. Get moving, Gene! Get painting, me!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

What a nice post JO!!!! I had so many cups but when they break, I don't tell anyone otherwise I'll get another!!! Lol. It does make a wonderful still life!! Nice work with the pastels you were going to throw out. Lol. I painted a few oil paintings but my love of pastels take me back again... Keep those paintings coming..... And I hope the change in Gene's meds work for him... Sometimes they have to keep changing it until it works for him.
Good to see the pastels! Hilarious about the non-collection. I have a similar issue with books...got rid of many in a move, told myself they had to fit in a certain space...and then just keep buying them. I don't have the excuse of other people getting them for me. I just bought myself another one last night. :-)
great reflections! :)
you could use his bike maybe if you wanted to?
I've been throwing some mugs. You can have your choice.
And the pastel is really nice. I especially like the reflection.
hmuxo, thanks. You can tell you love pastels in your portraits especially. Gene is doing pretty well.
Rose, I know you read so much and study. I'm jealous/envious in a good way at how you research and read. I like reading but can't get much "art" stuff to stick by reading. Hard to believe you bought a new book. Ha.
Jennifer Rose, thanks on the reflections. And nope on the bike riding. Do not like that. I do ride a stationary bike now for my knees .. therapy.
