Lazy Day Sketches

Not a good day for sketching, but what is a lazy sketcher going to do?  I feel guilty if I don't sketch.  That is not a very good reason to get out the sketchbook and pen.  I've mentioned this many times.  When you make little effort to sketch, is it really good practice?

I even tried tracing the big paper clip I had, that didn't look any better.  The most I can say is that I put pen to paper.  It is equivalent to walking around the lakes, better a short walk than no walk.

Sketched in the big coffee table sketchbook with the Prismacolor 01.
Number 1,  food object - a container of cottage cheese
Number 2, money
Number 3, rubber band, it is purple.  I think it came on some asparagus,  green and purple would have made it more appealing!  The money is green but not the same effect.
Number 4, paper clip

it is good practice. i bet if you didnt sketch for weeks, didnt sketch anything at all, you would notice the lack of practice once you started again

Jennifer Rose, you are probably right. It is much easier to sketch when I do it all the time. I sketch much better when I am interested and pay attention! I started to sy take my time, but slowing down doesn't necessarily mean that I sketch better -- just slower. Smiling.

You're like me you have that need to sketch something. I don't like the feeling when I stop for any reason. lol

Joan, I can't imagine you stopping either! You are a true sketcher, I am more of "I have to do something, might as well sketch." LOL

So many times I think I should sketch more, but I don't. Maybe if I felt guilty, I would do it. I do feel guilty about not exercising or walking more. Maybe I have just learned to live with the guilt. Sigh.

How is springtime in the hill country?

Bag Blog, Guilt is weird .. I do better when I do things voluntarily, I'm sure. When I was gluten sensitive I didn't feel bad or guilty, I just didn't eat it and if I slipped, my stomach told me, and I just went back to no gluten. Can't do that with the guilt of eating too much. Drat!!
Spring is good. We have about 10 bluebonnets in the patch and 5 or 6 Indian paint brush and primroses. But it all looks good with water in the ponds. The pollen from the Loblolly pines is about gone so we will be able to open the house at night and sit on the porch. Yay!

Jo, I am impressed by your commitment and consistency in sketching. I know that practicing my art regularly is the cornerstone of good work, but am not as regular as I would like to be. It's interesting how different it can feel on different days. Sometimes when I push myself, I really get into it and am pleased with the results. Other times, it just feels like going through the motions.

Mary, thanks for your comments. It seems artists have their ups and downs. A push now and then never hurts! I've missed a few days again, maybe your comments will push me to get started. Ha.
